FPT strengthens presence in Laos with SAP B1 rollout across four pharmaceutical companies
FPT has marked a significant milestone in Laos by successfully go-live of the expanded ERP system – SAP Business One (version 10) for four pharmaceutical companies under CBF Pharma. This project represents a key step in the country’s digital transformation journey, aiming to standardize enterprise management systems and accelerate the digitization of the pharmaceutical sector.
After the initial success with CBF Champasak, CBF Pharma has continued its collaboration with FPT to expand the system to three additional subsidiaries in Laos, including CM Healthcare, VC Lab, and VS Medicare. The project follows a two-phased implementation roadmap, starting on October 8, 2024, with the second phase running from April to May 2025, and the go-live completed in early June 2025.
CBF Pharma continues partnering with FPT to expand the system to three of its subsidiaries.
Building on the proven deployment model at CBF Champasak, the project integrates key modules, including Finance Accounting (FI), Purchasing, Sales, and Inventory Management. SAP Business One enables standardized operations across subsidiaries, ensuring seamless interdepartmental connectivity—from procurement and warehousing to sales and finance. The solution also streamlines time and costs by reusing core processes that have already demonstrated operational efficiency.
With 20 to 30 users per company across departments such as Accounting, Procurement, Sales, and Warehousing, the SAP B1 system is expected to boost management and operational productivity significantly. This latest expansion reflects CBF Pharma’s commitment to technology investment and business modernization.
The successful go-live marks a significant milestone for the client and reinforces FPT’s capabilities in implementing ERP systems at the enterprise group level. With five pharmaceutical companies in Laos now operating on SAP B1 solutions delivered by FPT, the company stands as the leading and most experienced ERP provider for the pharmaceutical sector in this market.
Mr. Pham Ba An, Project Advisor at CBF Pharma, shared: “The dedication and professionalism of the FPT project team were key in ensuring complete and timely data migration to SAP, enabling the system to go live on schedule and as committed.”
Throughout the implementation, the team faced multiple challenges, including users’ unfamiliarity with IT-based workflows and language barriers that complicated training and user acceptance testing (UAT). The team increased training frequency to overcome these obstacles and added Vietnamese–Lao interpreters to ensure high-quality knowledge transfer and effective user onboarding.
Mr. Sangvone Phankeo, Project Manager at CBF Pharma, expressed his hopes: “In phase one, FPT worked hard to resolve emerging issues. We hope the second phase will also achieve a smooth and successful go-live.”
Beyond operational value for the client, the project also fuels FPT’s momentum in expanding into international markets, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Southeast Asian enterprises in their digital transformation journeys.
