Honoring excellent schools and pupils at VioEdu Arena

On June 18, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh city and FPT Corporation have jointly organized a ceremony to honor and award prizes to 483 excellent pupils and 36 excellent primary schools of the VioEdu Arena.

Attending the ceremony are Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc – Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh city, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa – CEO of FPT Corporation, delegates who are leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh city, representatives of 22 District Departments of Education and Training, representatives of schools, parents, and 483 pupils who have won the Gold Prize of the VioEdu Arena in the 2022-2023 school year.

To properly apply technologies, enhance teaching and learning activities, as well as arouse the spirit of self-learning of primary school pupils in the city, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh city and FPT Corporation have jointly organized the VioEdu Arena playground for the first time in the 2020-2021 school year. The 2022-2023 school year is the third consecutive year that the playground is organized for primary school pupils in the area, with a steady increase in the number of pupils participating in the playground over the years.

The playground of season 3 is registered by more than 220,000 pupils from 480 primary schools, accounting for 35% of the total number of primary school pupils in the city. Considering the total number of pupils participating in VioEdu Arena in 65 regions across the country, Ho Chi Minh city is the region with the largest number of primary school pupils participating in the playground, many of those have gained top rankings on the national scale. Thu Duc city is the unit with the largest number of participating pupils with 91,657, while the District Departments of Education and Training that record the highest percentage of participating pupils are District 4 (66%), Nha Be District (62%), and District 6 (54%).

Speaking to conclude the playground, Mr. Nguyen Minh Thien Hoang – Deputy Head of Primary Education Department, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh city – emphasizes the usefulness of the playground in providing pupils more ways to approach knowledge, change learning methods, and form positive and proactive learning habits. During the peak period of social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, schools could proactively respond to the situation and still ensure the quality of teaching and learning by having teachers and students interact effectively on the VioEdu online platform through the playground.

According to Mr. Hoang, being properly organized, the playground has been widely spread with 100% of the Departments of Education and Training actively responding to and has become increasingly successful thanks to the close attention of the leaders of the Departments and schools, the support of the parents and the passion of the majority of pupils.

The 2022-2023 school year playground in Ho Chi Minh city includes 15 rounds of contest, lasting throughout the school year, providing the pupils the great opportunities to consolidate their knowledge. In addition to Math, the playground also includes other subjects such as Vietnamese language and English Math, aiming towards comprehensive knowledge review and practice for the pupils. Among more than 220,000 pupils, 9,599 of those have made their ways to the city-level finals and 5,771 have won prizes, specifically, 483 Gold prizes, 771 Silver prizes, 1,154 Bronze prizes and 3,363 Encouragement prizes. 483 pupils who have won Gold prizes and 36 excellent schools have been honored at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa – CEO of FPT Corporation – expresses his gratitude to the leaders of the People’s Committee and the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh city for always encouraging and being ready to welcome innovations to generate outstanding progress, contributing to the comprehensive development of the pupils. Mr. Khoa also suggests that the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh city strongly promote the self-study and lifelong learning movement for the pupils, teachers, and the management executives towards ceaseless enhancement of knowledge and skills.

With the tech advantages and quality of the exams, the VioEdu Arena provides an engaging learning environment that stimulates thinking, creativity, and dynamism for the pupils. The playground is organized on a free-of-charge basis and on national and regional scales (in coordination with Departments of Education and Training across the country). After more than 3 years, 30 million pupils have registered for VioEdu Arena, making the Arena a popular and favorite “spiritual soup” for Vietnamese pupils across provinces and cities.
