Remarks by Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich on FPT’s establishment of FPT Israel

On January 13, 2026, at the Announcement Ceremony of FPT Israel Establishment, Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, Director General of the Department of Information Technology Industry, Ministry of Science and Technology, delivered an important address, affirming the role of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in expanding their global presence, mastering core technologies, and advancing the Make in Viet Nam spirit in a new stage of development.

Esteemed delegates, representatives of government agencies, business organizations, and enterprises from Viet Nam and Israel,

Today, I am honored, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Technology, to attend the Announcement Ceremony of the establishment of FPT Israel—an event of special significance not only for FPT Corporation, but also for the global expansion journey of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in a new era of development.

On this occasion, I would like to extend my warm greetings and best wishes for health and success to all distinguished delegates, and to wish today’s ceremony every success.

Distinguished delegates,

The world is entering a new stage of development marked by profound and accelerating digital transformation, green transition, and intense global technology competition. In this context, the capacity to master technology, foster innovation, and participate deeply in global value chains has become a critical measure of national strength.

For Vietnamese digital technology enterprises, expanding their presence in markets with advanced scientific and technological capabilities is not merely a business decision. More importantly, it is a means of affirming the position of Vietnamese intellect and creativity on the global technology map.

By the end of 2025, Viet Nam had more than 2,000 digital technology enterprises operating in international markets, with overseas revenues reaching approximately USD 15 billion—demonstrating strong growth compared to previous periods. Many Vietnamese digital technology enterprises have gradually mastered core technologies, strengthened their implementation capabilities, and successfully delivered services and solutions to demanding markets, thereby participating more deeply in regional and global value chains.

Within this broader landscape, FPT Corporation stands out as a pioneering digital technology enterprise, with annual international revenues exceeding USD 1 billion and a presence across numerous key markets worldwide. The establishment of FPT Israel further affirms FPT’s long-term vision, strong integration capability, and aspiration to expand globally.

Distinguished delegates,

The Make in Viet Nam orientation for the 2026–2030 period, as defined and announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology, embodies a development spirit centered on creating value through high-knowledge, technology-intensive solutions that address real-world challenges, generate differentiation, and deliver sustainable value to society.

FPT’s presence in Israel should not be viewed solely as market expansion. More importantly, it represents an effort to connect intellect, absorb global technological excellence, and engage deeply in leading innovation ecosystems—thereby creating new value for Viet Nam.

Israel is globally recognized for its strengths in science, technology, and innovation, particularly in fields such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, biomedical technology, and high-tech agriculture. It is an ecosystem that brings together research institutions, technology enterprises, investment funds, and world-class human resources.

At a time when Viet Nam is firmly positioning science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers of growth, FPT’s establishment in Israel opens up opportunities for more substantive cooperation between enterprises of the two countries. It also creates favorable conditions for joint research, co-development, and commercialization of technology products, contributing to the formation of technology value chains with increasingly visible participation from Viet Nam.

Distinguished delegates,

A nation seeking rapid and sustainable development in the digital era must be supported by strong digital technology enterprises—enterprises capable of mastering core and strategic technologies and competing effectively on a global scale. Pioneering enterprises such as FPT play a critical role in paving the way, reinforcing confidence that Vietnamese people can indeed develop technology products and services that meet international standards and serve global markets.

The Ministry of Science and Technology highly appreciates FPT’s persistent efforts over the years—from investment in research and development, to building high-quality human resources, and expanding its global network. The establishment of FPT Israel represents the next step in FPT’s determination to engage with the world’s most advanced technology markets.

In the coming period, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in coordination with relevant ministries and agencies, will continue to improve mechanisms and policies to:

• Encourage research, development, and innovation, particularly in strategic technology areas such as artificial intelligence, data, cybersecurity, cloud computing, semiconductors, and the Internet of Things;

• Develop high-quality human resources, closely linking training with the practical needs of enterprises and strengthening international cooperation;

• Support enterprises in expanding markets, connecting with global innovation ecosystems, and enhancing international competitiveness and the Vietnamese technology brand, including through the Ministry’s network of science and technology representatives in 23 countries worldwide;

• Elevate the Make in Viet Nam initiative by mastering design, core technologies, and strategic technologies to take a leading role.

We expect pioneering enterprises such as FPT to continue serving as key drivers, leading the Vietnamese digital technology enterprise ecosystem in its global expansion.

I would like to propose that FPT Israel focus on several key orientations:

First, place innovation at the core, developing products and services with high knowledge content that create differentiation and sustainable value.

Second, strengthen R&D cooperation and co-development, closely linked with the protection and effective exploitation of intellectual property.

Third, expand markets based on quality, credibility, and international standards, particularly in data protection and information security.

Fourth, contribute back to Viet Nam through knowledge transfer, human resource development, and the dissemination of best practices in technology governance and innovation management.

The journey toward global expansion has never been easy. However, with strong aspirations, confidence, and pioneering enterprises that possess both capability and determination, we can move forward decisively. I firmly believe that FPT Israel will become an important bridge, contributing to the promotion of Viet Nam–Israel technology cooperation, spreading Vietnamese intellect globally, and realizing the spirit of Make in Viet Nam in a new stage of development.
