IBM and FPT IS join hands to tackle data management issue in Banking – Finance with Data Fabric architecture
Recently, FPT Information System Co., Ltd. (FPT IS) has joined hands with IBM Vietnam to organize a seminar on “Modernizing infrastructure with Data Fabric architecture” in Ho Chi Minh City. Delivering an opening speech, Mr. Dao Hong Giang, Director of Finance & Banking Sector of FPT IS, expects the discussion by the speakers would partially help tackle banks’ issues in governing and making use of data, thereby enhancing customer experience in the digital environment as well as operation and business efficiency. Mr. Giang also pledges that FPT IS and IBM Vietnam are always ready to be reliable partners for banks in data mining journey.

At the seminar, representatives from IBM Vietnam have given an in-depth analysis on the sustainable architecture of Data Fabric as well as its specific components such as data governance, multi-cloud data integration, Customer 360 and MLOPs, to simplify data integration, governance, and mining.
Besides, Ms. La Thi Viet Nga, Head of Data Analysis and Governance Department of FPT IS, speaks about practical experiences and methods to implement Data Governance program for enterprises. According to Ms. Nga, banks in Vietnam should implement a linked Data Governance model, an entire governance framework which connects divisions in a bank together. The model will help maintain consistent definitions and standards within the bank, making it safer and easier to share data between business divisions towards better efficiency in dealing with big issues.

In addition to Data Governance, FPT IS has also presented Feature Store product for advanced analysis, including 2,500 features covering most of the clients’ demographic and lifestyle information, banking products information, transactions, properties, loans, collaterals, contact information of the sales team. Using Feature Store will reduce the time spent on data preparation in analysis projects by approximately 80%, meanwhile ensure data accuracy and availability. The product also offers data enrichment and scalability.
IBM Vietnam and FPT IS have together delivered a large amount of new and useful knowledge on data governance and mining. The success of the seminar is expected to open up new business and cooperation opportunities between the two companies and banks as well as financial institutions.
