FPT IS pioneers distributing and deploying Konica PACS solution (FINO.VITA) in Vietnam
In a significant stride towards digital transformation in Vietnam’s healthcare sector, FPT IS has partnered with Konica Minolta (a member of the Japanese Konica Corporation) to distribute and integrate the PACS FINO.VITA solution into FPT.eHospital. This collaboration aims to streamline the automated process of storing, managing, retrieving, presenting and distributing medical images, thereby enhancing healthcare quality and optimizing management activities.
As part of the partnership, FPT IS has become the first company in Vietnam to distribute and deploy Konica PACS solution (FINO.VITA). Leveraging over two decades of experience as Vietnam’s leading HIS provider, FPT IS takes a pioneering step in adopting PACS and AI technologies to support image-based diagnosis, as demonstrated by Konica Minolta’s success in the Japanese market. The successful deployment at the first Japanese hospital in Vietnam sets the stage for the model replication across other hospitals and medical facilities in the country.
FPT IS officially becomes the first company in Vietnam to distribute and deploy the Konica PACS solution (FINO.VITA).
Konica Minolta Corporation, renowned for its provision of digital solutions and expertise in imaging, data processing, and data-driven solutions, boasts a global customer base exceeding 2 million across more than 150 countries through its 173 subsidiaries and partners. PACS FINO.VITA stands as the flagship solution of Konica Minolta, encompassing an image archiving system and advanced AI features.
Under the cooperation agreement, FPT IS will distribute Konica Minolta’s PACS FINO.VITA solution and integrate it into FPT.eHospital, serving both new and existing hospitals. Concurrently, Konica Minolta commits to providing comprehensive support for key projects, ensuring product updates and optimization in the Vietnamese market.
Regarding FPT IS, the company will build and implement a market development plan for PACS products in Vietnam to secure a significant market share, while ensuring seamless integration and deployment with FPT.eHospital to create a unified solution.
Upon integration, the solution will facilitate the automation of the entire diagnostic imaging process. Reports are also automatically integrated with data synchronized from PACS to the Hospital Information System (HIS on FPT.eHostpital) and vice versa.
Currently in Vietnam, successful pilots of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and the Filmless Hospital model, launched by the Vietnam Ministry of Health since 2015, have yielded notable results. Examples include Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Hospital, which has saved up to 55-75% of film costs, and Hai Phong International Hospital, where medical examination and treatment time have been reduced by more than 40%. Despite these successes, only over 21 medical facilities nationwide have implemented PACS technology, and there is a scarcity of technology companies offering PACS solutions that meet the Ministry of Health’s standards.
The collaboration between Konica Minolta and FPT IS aims to catalyze breakthroughs in the Healthcare sector’s digital transformation.
