FPT Signs Partnership with Korea’s Leading Fabless Semiconductor Association During State Visit of President Lee Jae Myung
At the Vietnam–Korea Business Forum on April 23, 2026, held during the State visit of President Lee Jae Myung to Vietnam, FPT Corporation signed multiple cooperation agreements with leading Korean partners. Notably, FPT entered into a semiconductor partnership with the Korea Fabless Industry Association (KFIA) – the largest representative organization of chip design companies in Korea, comprising nearly 150 enterprises. KFIA plays a central role in connecting the entire semiconductor ecosystem and contributes to industry policymaking.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, together with FPT’s leadership delegation, participated in high-level engagements and directly exchanged with policymakers and leading Korean corporations to promote cooperation opportunities in AI, digital infrastructure, and semiconductors. During the discussion session, Mr. Truong Gia Binh shared his strategic vision for bilateral collaboration:
“Having overcome extremely challenging times, Korea has become an advanced industrial nation. Vietnam once had a similar starting point. We dream big, and that aspiration is entirely justified—through cooperation between our two countries, it will certainly be realized,” he emphasized.
As part of the forum, FPT signed cooperation agreements with several Korean partners, including the Korea Fabless Industry Association (KFIA), Shinhan Bank (Korea), and GS Engineering & Construction. Among these, the semiconductor partnership with KFIA, aimed at building a comprehensive collaboration model in the semiconductor sector, stands out as a key highlight.
FPT partners with KFIA to build a comprehensive semiconductor collaboration model
KFIA, with nearly 150 members, is the largest association representing fabless companies in Korea. It serves as a central hub connecting fabless firms with the broader semiconductor ecosystem and participates in shaping industry policies. The Memorandum of Understanding focuses on key areas including: research and development of next-generation semiconductor technologies; building a Vietnam–Korea semiconductor ecosystem and supply chain; promoting the exchange of high-quality technical talent; and leveraging both parties’ business networks to expand global opportunities.
The partnership with KFIA marks a significant step in expanding FPT’s presence in the Korean market, following a two-way connectivity approach. Specifically, FPT will support KFIA member fabless companies in entering the Vietnamese market, promoting and deploying chip design solutions. Conversely, through KFIA’s network, FPT will have greater opportunities to expand its customer and partner base in Korea, thereby strengthening its presence within the country’s semiconductor ecosystem.
KFIA and FPT commit to deeper collaboration in semiconductor chip design between Korea and Vietnam
Following the signing ceremony, KFIA Chairman Mr. Kim Kyung Ho held a separate meeting with Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS and Chairman of FPT Semiconductor, FPt Corporation. Both sides agreed to continue close coordination in 2026, promoting business connectivity activities and supporting companies within each ecosystem to access each other’s markets.
