“Shining Bright” – A Milestone at the Violympic Awards Ceremony, Academic Year 2025–2026

Hanoi, May 9 – The Violympic Awards Ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year was held in a solemn atmosphere, attended by hundreds of education officials, teachers, parents, and 550 outstanding students representing millions of competitors across the country. This year’s competition attracted over 1 million student entries nationwide, demonstrating the widespread reach of online examination platforms in the context of today’s digital education transformation.

Digital transformation is no longer a choice, it is an inevitable trend. In education particularly, one of the sectors called upon to transform earliest and most substantively, the push spans digital data systems, electronic report cards, and platforms for spreading digital skills. The goal is to bring technology into every classroom and every school, especially in remote areas. Digital transformation and innovation open unprecedented opportunities to improve teaching and learning quality, personalize learning pathways, and broaden access to knowledge for all students, in line with the direction set out in Resolution 57-NQ/TW.

Mr. Thai Van Tai, Director General of the Department of Secondary Education, expressed his gratitude to teachers and the Violympic Organizing Committee, and extended his congratulations to students who achieved outstanding results at the competition. Speaking directly at the ceremony, Mr. Tai stated: “In the context of today’s new technologies, platforms like Violympic have created fairness in access for students across all regions. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, I will conduct a serious and objective review in order to make adjustments and provide recommendations to further expand technology-based learning activities for students in the period ahead.”

In keeping with that direction, Violympic, over its 18 years, has not only grown in scale but has also continuously updated itself in alignment with national education curriculum frameworks. In the 2025–2026 academic year, with over 1 million entries, Violympic continues to be one of the most concrete real-world indicators that digital transformation is gradually permeating school life — not just in major cities, but reaching even remote highland villages.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, Director of the Vio Digital Education System under FPT Corporation, shared: “The Violympic platform has become a symbol of the love of learning and the spirit of intellectual pursuit among Vietnamese students. It is not only a place where students test their knowledge, but also a launchpad for digital competency, helping them develop logical thinking, self-learning ability, and problem-solving skills, which are the core competencies of citizens in the digital age.”

A Ceremony of Companionship and Gratitude

This year’s awards ceremony conveyed a message of gratitude along each student’s journey of growth. Moments where students stepped onto the stage to receive their medals, bowed their heads in appreciation to parents and teachers, or personally placed honor sashes on those who had accompanied them throughout the journey became the most meaningful images of the event.

Behind every medal lies not only the student’s own effort, but also the love of family and the dedication of teachers over an entire school year. Violympic does not only honor outstanding faces, it also celebrates those who quietly lifted each student so that their journey of pursuing knowledge could reach further and shine brighter.

Student Ha Hoang Giang, a first-grader from Hoang Lien Primary Boarding School in Ban Ho Commune, Lao Cai Province, traveled nearly 300 kilometers to Hanoi to attend the ceremony. Sharing about her Violympic journey, she said: “I won the Silver Medal in the 2025–2026 Violympic National Round. For me, that is a tremendous joy. But I understand that this achievement did not come from my own effort alone — it also came from my parents who always encouraged me, and my teachers and school who always supported me. From being a small student in a highland village, I had the opportunity to overcome geographical distance, overcome difficulties, and reach a major intellectual competition of the whole country. I am very grateful to my parents, teachers, school, and the Organizing Committee for giving me the chance to stand here today.”

More Than 1 Million Students Writing a Brilliant Journey Together

The 2025–2026 academic year continued to mark the powerful reach of Violympic, attracting over 1 million student entries nationwide, with nearly 150,000 competitors advancing to the National Finals. After 5 rounds of competition, 32,303 students were honored across the subjects of Mathematics, Mathematics in English, Vietnamese Language, Natural Sciences, and History & Geography.

Among all award recipients, there were 2,595 Gold Medals, 3,896 Silver Medals, 6,512 Bronze Medals, and 19,300 Honorable Mentions. By province, Hanoi continued to lead the country with 7,733 prize-winning students, followed by Hai Phong with 4,396, Phu Tho with 3,720, Ninh Binh with 3,608, and Hung Yen with 2,437. These figures show that Violympic is not only thriving in major urban centers but is increasingly becoming a familiar learning platform for students across many localities throughout the country.

The event has drawn widespread interest from both students and parents.

Although this was the first year Violympic organized a National Round for first-grade students, it immediately drew strong interest from both students and parents. Notably, the presence of students from mountainous provinces and remote areas such as Lai Chau, Son La, Cao Bang, and Lao Cai continued to demonstrate that Violympic is not only a large-scale online intellectual competition, but also a platform that opens up equal access to knowledge for students in every corner of the country.

This year, students achieving the No. 1 national ranking were awarded laptops as recognition of their outstanding performance. Students in the Top 20 received prizes including tablets, smartwatches, and headphones. The total prize value for outstanding students across the country reached nearly 2 billion VND — a fitting recognition of students’ dedication to learning and their relentless pursuit of excellence.

Notably, following the awards ceremony in Hanoi, Violympic will organize a second ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on May 24, expected to be held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). This marks the first year Violympic has held major ceremonies in both the North and the South — once again demonstrating the competition’s growing appeal and development.

“Shining Bright” – From a National Competition to the Aspiration of Going Global

Going beyond a domestic online learning competition, Violympic is steadily opening opportunities for Vietnamese students to confidently step onto larger intellectual stages. The theme “Shining Bright” is not only this season’s message, but also reflects the aspiration to carry Vietnamese intellect to the world — so that Vietnamese students can affirm themselves on the international academic map.

Notably, in this academic year, the Top 20 students in the Violympic National Round from Grades 1 to 8 will be given priority direct entry into the National Round of Vio Global Champion without needing to meet the score requirements at the Experience Round. This is an opportunity for the most outstanding participants from Violympic to continue representing Vietnamese students in the journey to conquer an international competition.

After nearly two decades, Violympic is no longer just a test-taking platform — it stands as real-world proof that Vietnamese technology companies are fully capable of mastering strategic technology and operating digital infrastructure in education in line with Resolution 57-NQ/TW, while serving as a bridge for Vietnam’s young academic talents to gradually step forward onto the world stage.
