FPT honored by the Ministry of Science and Technology for contributions to Vietnam’s software and IT services industry
On August 14, 2026, as part of the 6th National Congress of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) for the 2026–2031 term, FPT received a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Science and Technology in recognition of its outstanding achievements and contributions to the development of Vietnam’s software and IT services industry. The recognition further underscores FPT’s sustained contributions to strengthening technological capabilities, expanding into global markets, and supporting Vietnam’s digital transformation journey.
The Certificate of Merit was presented during the plenary session of the 6th VINASA National Congress in Hanoi. The event provided an opportunity for VINASA and the digital technology business community to reflect on the industry’s development during the previous term, while recognizing organizations with outstanding achievements and contributions. FPT’s recognition by the Minister of Science and Technology reflects the Corporation’s role across multiple layers of the technology value chain, from software development and IT services to digital transformation system implementation and the research and application of emerging technologies for businesses, organizations and society.
Over nearly four decades of development, FPT has remained committed to technology as its core capability while expanding its contributions through an integrated ecosystem. FPT connects resources across technology research, product development, consulting, implementation, operations and talent development, building the capability to deliver technology solutions and services at scale. This approach enables the Corporation to address increasingly diverse digital transformation needs among domestic customers while gradually bringing Vietnam’s technological capabilities deeper into the global market.

In Vietnam, as Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and other key resolutions issued by the Politburo serve as strategic directions for the country’s development, FPT recognizes its responsibility as a leading technology enterprise and has quickly embraced the core principles of these resolutions. The Corporation has assembled teams of experienced experts to work alongside ministries, sectors and localities in operating the two-tier local government model, implementing data strategies and digital transformation strategies, and applying technology to address critical challenges facing ministries, localities and the nation.
FPT has mobilized substantial technology resources to ensure the seamless and secure operation of IT systems for key organizations supporting the two-tier local government model. These efforts include upgrading systems for the Ministry of Finance, the State Treasury and nearly 20 commercial banks; working alongside Quang Ninh province to implement the two-tier local government model; and upgrading the Digital Citizen application for Ho Chi Minh City.
FPT has also supported the implementation of comprehensive digital platforms that significantly transform core business processes at the Ministry of Justice, including the Electronic Receipt System, the National Legal Portal and the Legal Database. FPT also served as a consultant on the infrastructure and development strategy for National Data Center No. 1, which meets leading international standards, including Uptime Tier IV certification.
On the international market, FPT has steadily built the position of a Vietnamese technology enterprise, with a presence in more than 30 countries and territories and strategic partnerships with more than 130 Fortune 500 companies. From its initial markets in Japan, the United States and Singapore, FPT has continuously expanded its network across Asia, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.
In 2024 alone, FPT opened additional offices in markets including Japan, South Korea, India, China, Malaysia, Sweden and Saudi Arabia, further expanding its ability to provide technology services directly to global customers.
FPT’s globalization is reflected not only in the scale of its presence but also in its ability to undertake increasingly large and complex projects. In 2023, FPT reached USD 1 billion in IT services revenue from international markets, marking a transition from a software exporter to a global-scale technology services provider.
In 2024, FPT secured a USD 225 million contract in the United States, alongside contracts worth more than USD 100 million in Singapore and Germany. In 2025, the Corporation reached another milestone with a USD 256 million contract from a leading Asian energy group. These hundred-million-dollar contracts demonstrate the growing ability of Vietnamese technology enterprises to participate deeply in strategic digital transformation programs for major corporations worldwide. FPT’s 2024 Annual Report records contracts worth USD 225 million in the US, USD 115 million in Germany and USD 110 million in Singapore, while its 2025 Annual Report confirms the USD 256 million comprehensive AI-enabled digital transformation contract with a leading Asian energy group.
Alongside market expansion, FPT has accelerated mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and partnerships with technology companies across major markets. Transactions in the United States, Europe and Japan have enabled FPT to strengthen its consulting capabilities, specialized technology expertise and local workforce, gradually moving into higher-value segments of the global technology services value chain. In 2024, FPT completed its first M&A transaction in Japan and launched an AI Factory in the market, further expanding its investment in strategically important technology areas.
Alongside expanding its global footprint, FPT has strengthened its capabilities in technologies including AI, cloud computing, Big Data, Blockchain, automation and Low-code platforms, applying these capabilities to customers across industries such as banking and finance, insurance, automotive, manufacturing, energy and healthcare.
FPT’s technology capabilities and service quality have been reinforced through international standards and certifications in software development, testing, automotive and healthcare. Through these efforts, FPT has gradually enabled Vietnamese engineers, knowledge and technological capabilities to participate more deeply in the global value chain, while contributing to the international standing of Vietnam’s IT industry.
The 6th VINASA National Congress was held under the theme “Synergizing Digital Technology – Elevating National Standing,” emphasizing the need to strengthen collaboration across the technology business community, master core technologies and enhance national competitiveness. As digital technology increasingly becomes an important driver of growth, FPT sees its responsibility as extending beyond developing products and markets to contributing its resources, experience and technological capabilities to the country’s broader development challenges.
The Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Science and Technology in recognition of FPT’s achievements and contributions to the software and IT services industry recognizes the Corporation’s sustained efforts and serves as encouragement for FPT’s continued development.
