Creating innovation through collaboration: FPT and Shenzhen SMIA Explore a shared vision for cultural digitalization

As part of its ongoing efforts to harness technology to unlock the value of cultural heritage, akaVerse (FPT) recently held a strategic meeting with a high-level delegation from the Shenzhen Multimedia Industry Association (SMIA). Recognized as a driving force behind Shenzhen’s creative industry ecosystem, SMIA brings together leading companies specializing in Virtual Reality (VR), Computer Graphics (CG), and immersive multimedia solutions. These companies are at the forefront of applying advanced technologies to cultural heritage preservation and smart city development worldwide.

Strategic meeting with the high-level delegation from SMIA

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange insights into their capabilities and future development strategies as Vietnam accelerates its digital transformation journey. During the discussion, SMIA member companies showcased their cutting-edge technologies and proposed transferring core solutions to support FPT in mastering advanced multimedia platforms.

In response, Mr. Vu Duy Thanh, Director of akaVerse Center, FPT Corporation introduced FPT’s flagship cultural heritage digitalization projects, demonstrating the company’s capability to bridge traditional cultural values with modern digital technologies. Impressed by FPT’s practical achievements, Ms. Xu Shiqiao, Secretary General of SMIA, remarked:

“We highly appreciate FPT’s commitment to developing Vietnam’s cultural industry. SMIA is ready to serve as a bridge connecting FPT with Shenzhen’s leading technology companies to facilitate technology sharing. We would also like to warmly invite FPT to join the Association’s network so that we can jointly explore world-class creative projects.”

The initial discussions also demonstrated strong alignment with Vietnam’s national strategic priorities, including:

• Developing the cultural industry into a key economic sector in line with the spirit of Resolution No. 80 and Resolution No. 57.
• Accelerating the digitalization of Vietnam’s cultural heritage under Decision No. 611 and the National Digital Transformation Program for the Cultural Heritage Sector, aiming to ensure sustainable preservation while enhancing the value of the country’s historical and cultural landmarks.

Speaking about the partnership’s future potential, Mr. Vu Duy Thanh said:

“This marks a promising beginning for building meaningful and practical collaboration between our organizations. We believe SMIA’s proposals on technology transfer and ecosystem connectivity will become valuable resources that enable FPT to transform cultural heritage into valuable digital assets, contributing directly to the development of Vietnam’s cultural industry.”

The newly established relationship extends beyond technology exchange. It lays the foundation for a creative technology alliance in which Shenzhen’s technological excellence and FPT’s implementation capabilities will complement one another, helping elevate the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage on the global digitalization landscape.
