FPT and TR donate AI-powered lung function devices to Vietnamese hospitals
Recently, through the connection facilitated by FPT Corporation, Korea’s TR Group donated Spirokit, an AI-powered smart pulmonary function testing device, to Lam Dong General Hospital and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The initiative also included a free screening program for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), benefiting more than 700 local residents.
This initiative marks the first in a series of collaborative activities between FPT, TR, and Vietnamese hospitals, under the cooperation agreement signed between the two corporations. The partnership aims to accelerate healthcare digital transformation in Vietnam, enhance the quality of medical services, and contribute to realizing the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW.
TR and FPT donate AI-powered Spirokit Smart Pulmonary Function Device to Lam Dong General Hospital
Lam Dong General Hospital is a key destination in TR’s medical equipment donation program in Vietnam. According to hospital leaders, the existing pulmonary function testing system has been in operation for over 20 years, with outdated technology that significantly impacts the screening and treatment of respiratory diseases.

In the context of Vietnam, where approximately 21% of the population suffers from non-communicable chronic diseases – most commonly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the donation of the Spirokit device holds special significance. Developed by TR Group, a Korean enterprise specializing in AI-based medical device development and manufacturing, Spirokit enables early detection of respiratory diseases, particularly COPD, with high accuracy, a compact design, and seamless integration with digital healthcare systems. The device also empowers patients to monitor their respiratory health proactively at home.
Notably, the program is funded by the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation in healthcare and science and technology between Vietnam and Korea.
During the first phase of the initiative, TR’s team of experts conducted free respiratory screenings for over 200 local residents in Lam Dong, helping identify numerous cases with early signs of potential respiratory conditions.

The donation event builds upon the strong partnership between FPT and Lam Dong General Hospital. In recent years, FPT has collaborated closely with the hospital to deploy a range of digital healthcare solutions within its FPT.eHospital smart healthcare ecosystem – including the FPT.EMR electronic medical records system, the Hospital Information System (HIS), and the Laboratory Information System (LIS), among others.
As a strategic partner in healthcare digital transformation, FPT not only provides cutting-edge technology solutions but also serves as a bridge connecting international resources, bringing innovative ideas and advanced medical technologies to enhance Vietnam’s healthcare system.

Prior to the event in Lam Dong, the program was also implemented at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, where TR donated Spirokit devices and conducted free respiratory screenings for over 500 local residents. The initiative not only allowed medical students and young doctors to gain hands-on experience with advanced healthcare technologies but also opened up opportunities for research collaboration in AI-powered early detection and treatment of respiratory diseases. Looking ahead, FPT and TR plan to continue working closely with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy to further promote the application of technology in healthcare digital transformation, particularly in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
FPT Corporation and TR Group (Korea) signed an MoU in March 2025 to promote AI applications in smart healthcare and chronic disease management
In the next phase, under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2025, FPT and TR will continue to collaborate on research and integrate the Spirokit device into FPT’s Chronic Care Management System. Connecting the smart pulmonary function testing device with FPT’s comprehensive health management platform will further enhance the FPT.eHospital smart healthcare ecosystem. This initiative represents a concrete step in FPT’s journey to support the Government’s national healthcare digital transformation goals, advancing toward a modern, people-centered, and compassionate healthcare system.
