FPT and Metrodata promote the development of Indonesia’s technology industry
Recently, the leadership of PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (Metrodata), a leading IT company in Indonesia and an affiliate of the Ciputra Group, visited and held a high-level working session with FPT to discuss and promote potential collaboration in AI and cybersecurity, two rapidly expanding technology areas in Indonesia.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Candra Ciputra, President Director, Ciputra & President Commissioner, Metrodata expressed significant interest in FPT’s technological capabilities and experience, particularly in cybersecurity and AI. “We want to go further in the Vietnamese market by learning about technological capabilities and forming a partnership with FPT,” said Mr. Candra Ciputra.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chief Executive Officer of FPT, stated: “Going Global is FPT’s aspiration and spirit. This meeting will help both parties strengthen their strategic partnership, combine their strengths, and dominate the global market.”

At the meeting, Mr. Doan Duy Lam, Business Development Director of Global Sector at FPT IS, provided participants with an overview of the company’s history, technological capabilities, operational domains, and the ecosystem of “Made by FPT” solutions.
Mr. Sutedjo Tjahjadi, Strategy & Investment Director, a representative of Metrodata, introduced the company’s ERP consulting experience. He said: “Metrodata’s stable customer base is one of our strengths. We currently have 29 product distribution locations worldwide. What we need to do now is developing more useful products and services for customers.”
In addition, FPT IS and Metrodata also discussed strategies for developing cybersecurity services, in an effort to solidify their positions and dominate the Indonesian market. “With the market projected to reach USD 200 million by 2029, cybersecurity is currently a top priority for global businesses. “Therefore, the cooperation between the two parties will be an important foundation for developingthe world-class technology products and services”, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS, stated.
FPT and Metrodata’s partnership is expected to present both businesses with a plethora of business opportunities in the Vietnamese and Indonesian markets.
Given that AI is becoming an inevitable trend to increase the competitiveness of businesses, the leaders of Metrodata and FPT Smart Cloud discussed potential for AI cooperation in the “Thousand Islands” market. Previously, in January 2024, FPT IS and Metrodata signed a memorandum of understanding to promote digital transformation and technology application, particularly the use of AI to accelerate the achievement of the “Indonesia Vision 2045” goal.
