FPT Proposes Strengthening Vietnam–Germany Strategic Cooperation in Semiconductors, Innovation, and Digitalization at JEC-3
At the 3rd Session of the Vietnam–Germany Joint Economic Commission (JEC-3) on November 17, FPT participated as a leading Vietnamese technology enterprise, presenting proposals to expand strategic cooperation between the two countries in high-tech sectors, particularly semiconductor technology.

In her remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van, Chief of Office, FPT Semiconductor, FPT Group, emphasized that with Vietnam positioning semiconductors as a priority industry and Germany promoting supply chain diversification, the timing is ideal for both sides to implement practical cooperation programs. FPT noted that to meet the growing global semiconductor demand, the two countries need close coordination in developing a high-quality engineering workforce, through training and knowledge-transfer programs between Vietnamese enterprises and German industrial and academic organizations.

FPT Proposes Joint Innovation and R&D Centers in Vietnam
FPT also proposed establishing joint innovation and R&D centers in Vietnam to serve the needs of German enterprises investing in the Vietnamese market. These centers would conduct research in advanced materials, semiconductors, optics, electronics–mechanics–software integration, and promote technology applications in industrial, automotive, and smart device sectors—areas of strength for both countries.
At the same time, FPT highlighted the importance of developing digitalization and automation infrastructure according to European standards, enabling German enterprises to operate efficiently in Vietnam. The Group seeks to collaborate with German partners to implement digital operation solutions, process and document management, and smart manufacturing, while training industrial management personnel to EU standards, enhancing competitiveness for both countries amid global digital transformation.

Beyond strategic directions, FPT proposed specific cooperation initiatives with German companies attending the session, including Infineon Technologies AG, Carl Zeiss, Leonhard Kurz Stiftung & Co KG, and De-Velop Consulting. Cooperation topics span from chip design and testing, embedded software development, industrial AI and data applications, to advanced materials and digitalization in manufacturing operations.
Representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade appreciated FPT’s proactive participation and in-depth proposals, recognizing FPT as one of Vietnam’s strongest technology partners, capable of leading strategic high-tech cooperation programs. German representatives also emphasized that Vietnam remains a key partner in the Asia–Pacific region, especially in semiconductors, innovation, and Industry 4.0.
With its comprehensive technology ecosystem and experience implementing large-scale projects for the global market, FPT expects that the initiatives presented at JEC-3 will lead to sustainable, practical collaboration projects, positioning Vietnam as a critical link in the global high-tech semiconductor value chain, while supporting German enterprises to expand operations effectively in Vietnam.
