The adoption of Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) is considered a significant milestone in the digital transformation of healthcare, gradually replacing traditional paper records. It helps reduce errors in diagnosis and treatment while providing full integration with laboratory, imaging, pharmacy, and social insurance systems. This allows doctors and medical staff to manage and track patient records anytime, anywhere, improving the overall quality of healthcare services.
According to Dr. Ngo Đuc Tuan, Director of Dong Nai General Hospital, the hospital aims to complete full implementation within 6–12 months, progressively phasing out paper records to achieve complete digitization of treatment operations. He also acknowledged the support from regulatory authorities, sponsors, and especially the FPT project team, which played a key role in ensuring the system operates on schedule.

Currently, the system is operational in several key departments, including Internal Medicine, Emergency & Intensive Care, Thoracic Surgery, and Surgery – Anesthesia & Resuscitation, helping save time and costs, ensure data security, and support doctors in making more accurate decisions. In the next phase, the hospital plans to expand the system across all departments.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Le Quang Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that implementing electronic medical records along with other digital tools, such as cashless payments and telemedicine, will not only enhance professional efficiency but also give healthcare staff more time to care for patients, improving overall treatment quality.

With extensive experience supporting key hospitals, FPT reaffirms its commitment to continue assisting Dong Nai’s healthcare sector, and Vietnam more broadly, in building smart, modern, and sustainable hospitals.
