FPT and FGV Prodata partner to advance digital transformation in Malaysia and Southeast Asia

FPT and FGV Prodata Systems Sdn Bhd (FGV Prodata) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate comprehensive digital transformation for enterprises in Malaysia and expand cooperation across Southeast Asia. Leveraging their capabilities in core technologies across enterprise management systems, data, cybersecurity and green transformation, the two companies will jointly research, develop and deploy key technology initiatives aligned with their long-term strategic goals.

The partnership comes as digital transformation is rapidly accelerating across Southeast Asia, where the digital economy is increasingly recognized as a major driver of regional growth. In Malaysia, the government has launched the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDIGITAL) to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies, cloud computing and data across both the public and private sectors.

At the same time, many large enterprises in the region are facing the need to modernize traditional enterprise management systems as SAP has announced plans to end standard support for SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) in the coming years. This transition is taking place alongside growing pressures related to cybersecurity and sustainability commitments.

Under the MoU, FPT and FGV Prodata will focus their collaboration on three strategic pillars: green transformation, digital transformation and cybersecurity. Among these, green transformation has been identified as a key focus area, supporting enterprises in pursuing sustainable development alongside their digital transformation journeys.

First, in the area of green transformation, the two companies will collaborate to develop a roadmap toward carbon neutrality for FGV Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries. Leveraging FPT’s capabilities in digital platforms, data technologies and experience in implementing emission management and ESG solutions, the two partners will jointly research and design sustainability strategies and implementation roadmaps. These initiatives will help enterprises collect, standardize and analyze data while monitoring long-term progress toward sustainability goals.

FPT currently owns VertZéro, a carbon emissions management platform with more than 90,000 emission factors that supports businesses in 190 countries and connects with more than 30 partners within the global green transformation ecosystem. In Vietnam, Tran Duc Group has used VertZéro to conduct emissions inventories across its entire production and business operations in pursuit of a Net Zero factory goal. The solution is also being implemented by companies in sectors such as banking, transportation and services, and is gradually expanding into the Japanese market.

Second, in digital transformation, FPT and FGV Prodata will collaborate on SAP system transformation and enterprise management modernization. The two parties will jointly develop a comprehensive strategy for migrating from SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC), a traditional on-premise ERP platform, to RISE with SAP, a comprehensive ERP transformation package developed by SAP.

RISE with SAP enables enterprises to migrate ERP systems to the cloud with SAP S/4HANA at the core, while integrating cloud infrastructure, system transformation tools, operational services, security and compliance within a unified subscription model. As a SAP Gold Partner in the Asia–Pacific region with more than 23 years of experience implementing SAP projects and next-generation Cloud ERP systems for hundreds of enterprises across multiple industries, FPT will work with FGV Prodata to support customers throughout the entire transformation journey—from consulting and process redesign to data governance, system deployment and cloud-based ERP operations centered on SAP S/4HANA.

Third, in cybersecurity, the two companies will coordinate to deploy solutions aimed at strengthening information security for internal operations and customer-facing services. These initiatives are designed to meet increasingly stringent security standards required during digital transformation, particularly for large enterprises and organizations.

Cybersecurity is one of five strategic technology directions that FPT plans to focus on in 2026. With more than 37 years of development, FPT has built comprehensive cybersecurity capabilities, including an international-standard Security Operation Center (SOC) operating 24/7 and a multi-layered security ecosystem that protects the systems and data of thousands of customers in Vietnam and worldwide. Beyond these three core pillars, the MoU also outlines potential cooperation in co-distributing FGV Prodata’s Weighing Bridge solution in the Vietnamese market. The two companies will also explore further collaboration in other IT fields such as digital infrastructure, software development, data governance and emerging technologies.
